Rear Defroster/Defogger Operation
Can someone explain the operation of the rear defroster/defogger.
I have a two position ****. My manual says "Pull for defogging and turn for defrosting".
What is the difference between the two functions?
The only physical difference I see is that when I pull the ****, only the middle section of the rear window seems to clear. When I turn the ****, the whole rear window clears.
It also mentions something about the front windshield in defroster mode, but I haven't seen anything happen with that.

Three Wheelin'
I am not sure about the turning part, but mine seems to be pull to the first click and then pull again for the second. I don't think my car has mirror defrosters.

My 1979 has no mirror defoggers. The defroster switch has two positions, both pulls. The weird thing is I think it's always on, but only the middle wires (targa window) seem to work. I pulled the fuse until I can figure it out.
Do your defroster switches always illuminate when you turn on your headlights, or does the switch light only when you have the defroster on?
I'm wondering if my relay is shot in the on position.

Regardless of whether I pull or turn, the rear window always activates. So I don't think the turn is for the side mirrors only. The weird thing is that when I pull only the middle third of the rear windshield activates. But when I turn, the whole does.
When I turn on my lights the switch lights up. But when I turn on the defroster the switch lights up brighter to let you know its on.
