The 3.2 Carrera as a future classic?
A cool quick piece on future classics under $30k. The Carrera 3.2 gets a nod but definitely not the 993. Article here

Nice article. As a 3.2 owner I strongly agree with his judgement! Also, the E30 M3 is great and beyond argument as a classic. I was looking back at pics of my old 964 and 964turbo and I definitely prefer impact bumper cars for both looks and drive.

...aaah, to have a crystal ball. I've owned 3 Speedsters in my lifetime (one late '58, two '57s), didn't get much for any of them, and all three were rust-free CA cars! I sold the '58, with a go-fast S-90 motor, for about $3500; today, maybe $135,000... now where is my morning classifieds, I think there was an '88 Cab in there...

That is the Z3 coupe (not drop top). Very potent in Euro spec...
I agree 100% that these Z3 coupes will be highly collectible at some point. Ditto on the ZR-1 'vette. If I was a betting man, I'd pick either the Z3 coupe or the ZR-1 to appreciate more than the 3.2 Carrera.

Sorry I should have been more specific - I was surprised because it's a polarizing car - you either love it or hate it. While capable - and a great track car - I have never been fond of the look of "The Shoe". ZR-1 - you bet - E-30 M3 easy pick.

Well in Australia, MZ3 roadies and coupes have already become quite collectable and gone up considerably in price (were in the 40s now 50s). Nice 3.2s are now getting an extra 10k from on;y a couple of years ago (now 60-70s) yes yes cars a MUCH more expensive here. I'm just always surprised that 930s haven't skyrocketed, they have to be next?... maybe it's the nasty CIS...
