Why are you running your front end over a curb?

Ed, I have a low curb at work that runs along the edge of the walkway- it sits at the front of 8 parking spaces.... this is where I park at work. The picture is deceiving- the hooks don't touch the curb (there is about one inch of clearance). I had already parked and was in a hurry this morning and wanted to photograph the hooks. I thought the low curb might give some scale, but apparently all it did was make it look like I park my car up on curbs..

added later: and of course after saying that I don't scrape anymore, I scraped the heck of them today when I pulled into a neighbor's driveway to turn around... argh.

Those are some funky looking hooks. Look up the part # for a '75, and see if it is the same "eye" that SC's and Carreras have-I thought they were all similar. You may save a 1/2" Or 1" or something, and make this a non-issue. Those do look like they hang down more. I'm sure the traditional toe eyes would work, as they just use the t-bar front mount.

My tow hooks are an integral part of the caps ("protective brackets" per Porsche catalog) on the front T-bar mounts. I do see 2 different part numbers for "overseas" cars- don't know what the difference is though. I think I am going to just bend them over 90 degrees so that they still stick out, but are in the horizontal plane and not sticking downwards.

As Iceman said, it's nice after a scrape to see that it was only the the hooks that scraped, but these suckers really hang down a lot... I don't have a need for tow hooks anyway.
