Money-wise you'd be better off just getting a 964 and selling your sc, but if you want to go the mod route I know one of the following - MA Shaw, Getty Design, GT Racing sells a fiberglass kit that converts to 993 for around that price. Not sure about 964 - but ask those guys if there is one they'll know.

If you're going to drive this on the street with no cage, I wouldn't go the fiberglass route, though.

If you want steel parts I'm pretty sure you have to get parts from a dismantler, probably roughly the same or slightly more in price.

Either way is going to cost substantitally more than selling your sc and buying a 964. The next buyer will pay zero for that expensive mod and likely will demand a discount for it. Now, if you're converting it for racing, that's different story.

I did it to my car. I would not recommend it though. I am exsperienced in fabrication and it was alot of work. nothing every fits right and you have to do alot of modifications. here are some pics of before and after. good luck

Don't do it, your SC looks wonderful as it is

If you want a change what about going for IROC bumpers for your car, a much cooler look in my opinion.

I thought most owners of SC's prefer to backdate instead of going forward

Actualy i do like the looks of the IROC bumpers, any links on them? thanks for the replys. i love my sc and the looks, but my favorite year is probably 964 era, but i agree with the fact that it would be better to just buy one instead of trying to make one, probably more cost effective.................anyone want a nice
81 sc?.........haha lol

abossana if you are interested in the 964 kit I have almost a full new kit I did not use. I will sell it for close to nothing. I have it stored right now. I have to see what pieces I have if you are interested. I no I have the fender flares, rear section, rocker panels. the front piece is the only thing i am not sure if i have. I will sell all I have for 500 + shipping. If interested I can pull it out tomorrow and take pics

i found the link to the site that gave me the idea.......

http://www.automotion.com/ProductPag...&vehicle=17641

front- rear bumper kit...........1200
light and seal kit...............1500
side rocker kit.................270

total without paint........$ 2900-3000.00

i want to repaint the car anyway...........i have a good local body shop i deal with thats pained many cars for me and does awsome work for good prices. he said around 3000 for jams, and everything show ready

so im looking at about 6000-7000 in work, i could sell mt car for 10K, take that 7000 any put with the 10k and buy a $17,000 964 hummmmmmm, i should think about this a while.

your SC looks great as it is! just my opinoin but if you want the 964 look then go out and buy one. then you have a body that fits right and newer mechanicals.

no offense, but if you decide to keep your SC and change it to a 964 look, you narrow the field of prospective buyers by alot if you ever decide to sell. As then it will be a butchered SC. Looks nice, but it is still an SC with a body kit.

I would sell the SC then take that and your surplus cash and buy a nice 964, its a great car

That is a very nice looking 81 SC.... I might even have interest in it if you plan to sell it. Don't butcher an original!

dont' do it. your car looks great. if you want a 911 that looks like a 964 (although i am not sure why you'd want that) then get a 964!

JBrown,

I would be interested in the 964 kit if abossana doesn't want it. Let me know.
