Angry Eggs on my 911...

Okay...

So I stop my 911 in front of my lady friend's house and we start talking inside the car. It's about 22h00 and she's just about to exit...

While we're talking, I see four 14-16 y/o kids walking down the street towards us. They can clearly see that my friend and I are in the vehicle. One yard away from my porsche, one of them throws an egg on my windshield and they all start running away.

I feel my blood pressure rising rapidly, promptly exit the car and start running REALLY fast (adrenaline and I run 4 miles per day!!).

When I start gaining, I choose the tallest and biggest one on them and I grab him by the neck from behind with my arm and start squeezing while giving him a good briefing. (I spent 7 years teaching recruit courses in the army, and this was by far the most explicit speech I have ever given).

One of the other kids comes up to me a few seconds after and says: "sir, I'm sorry, I'm the one that threw the egg, not him...". I immediately let go of the other one and I start talking to that one... I can start hearing in his voice that he about to crap his pants so I start slacking off. He apologises a lot and offers to come and clean the mess on the spot. I then start walking away without saying anything.

Anybody else ever got eggs thrown on their P-car? I was really insulted...

1) It's a Porsche
2) Kids with eggs at 22h00
3) Eggs really make a mess and it's not the best for the paint if it's hot..

What would you have done?

You did the right thing. A come-to-Jesus meeting was called for, and you gave it. You have probably spared the next guy from having to deal with that. If they had to PAY for the painting of a single panel of your car they would never forget that lesson.

I'd have chased them down and had a talk with the kid that did it, but I wouldn't have been too harsh because they could come back later with a vengeance and very dense objects. The kids were just being kids. I've done stupid but irreversible things like this too. I feel for ya though!

good move i think. if nothing else, the kids will probably wait until people get OUT of their car before egging it.

Yeah, I guess kids do stupid things and that's why I stopped quickly. But I was pissed all right!

I hope they find new ways to entertain themselves...

Should have invited him over the next day to wash your car - then after he has washed the entire car take him for a hair raising ride and ruin his life forever.

Do you mean my little chat with the kids? It was in French... Is my English writing that bad?

Your English is fine. I wish you would capitalize like you do" French". I would have made him lick it up with his tongue or called the cops. That would have really freightened him. Eggs can rreally harm cars paint. Hope you washed it off ASAP.

It took some level of courage and integrity for the kid to confess rather than run away. I think he learned a lesson, and you did the right thing.
