true - probably the best thing is to say "since you admit it I'll let you go this time -- I don't want you to have a criminal record with the cops... Eggs can cause permanent paint damage..."

you definitely don't want to beat up a kid for egging your car...

No, no, no. Your English is fine. I was just trying to picture this whole scenario accurately. How did your petite ami react to your running after the kids? Is she afraid of you now, too?

Interesting thread. I always wondered what I would do if I caught a kid prying the emblem off the front of my car with a screwdriver. I have always been worried that i would not show the proper restraint and ended up being charged with assault.

You did well my friend..

Given that the car is fine, let's not forget what is important here: How did it go with your lady friend?

Well, it kinda ended the soiree abruptly! I was afraid she'd be listening to me and she did listen. She understood my feelings concerning the egging.

I would't have hurt the kids, just wanted to show them that sometimes these actions can catch up to them!

Once, some kids through a big rock from an overpass on my fathers car... he tried to catch up to them but he couldn't (health, age, etc). I wished I could have been there to help him... This time, it was just an egg, but what might be next? The emblem off your car? Another rock on the highway?

Talking about kids, I hate my neightbor kids. They have so "much" kids that I can't even count. These people are Hispanic and they like to play ball. Too bad for me, they don't like cars. Many times when my car is parking up in the front yard, when they kick their ball over and hit the car. Sometimes, I took the ball over to talk to their parents, who don't care. Sometimes they made me embarrassed by talking in spanish and laughing with each other right in front of me, while I was trying to explain in a nice manner, asking them to talk to the kids. Once, a little girl (probably 6 or 7 years old) even told me in front of their family "go buy a new car" when I explained that kicking their ball over the heighbor property can damage things such as cars... Finally I gave up dealing with these meat head people and turn to the cops for opinion. They say police don't do this kind of things. If police come and talk to them, they might make things worse for me. And added that I should to deal with them myself.
Anyone experience this?
Honestly, I don't hate people who trash their own cars, but I hate people who trash other people cars. I hate them gut.

reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where they are talking Korean in front of Elaine .... Bottom line is you are not going to win that battle as they do not appreciate posessions. All you can do is start making the ***** mysteriously disapear.

Buried him and his friends. The old saying of spare the rod and spoil the child fits this senario. I'd have used the rod, the brick on the ground, the tree in the lot, my hands and feet, and anything else within reach. Come on, those guys are old enough to know better. They saw you and your lady friend and still did it out of spite, right in your face. I say best to make an example of them. As Barney Fife would say, 'nip it in the bud'.
