I find myself sneaking off to the garage to gaze at my new acquisiton. I study the lines and admire the curves and gawk at the 20 year old guards red paint. Then I tiptoe back into the house like a happy dolt...not even having driven it. I'm afraid I'm becoming a mindless fool whose brain is turning to mush.

That's extremely normal. There is something about the timeless lines of a 911 that is artwork. These cars can be appreciated both by driving and by just looking at the car.
Get used to it. I've had mine 4 years and I still do the same thing. I even talk to it when I walk by?
I'm sure if my wife saw this she would be extremely jealous!!!
I'd say normal is a sleeping bag in the garage for the first few nights, just to make sure when you first wake up that it's really there and not a dream.
It's nice to have what you really wanted, isn't it?
I've had my 911sc for a week - and I'm right there with you out in the garage. It takes a little longer because I can't neglect the 944s when I go out for a gazing session.
Like someone else said, it's nice to have what you really wanted...
I would be more concerned if you weren't going out to look at it! I've had mine since March and it's still one my favorite pastimes to stare at or sit in. My wife thinks I've lost it.
The main reason I let friends drive my car is to see the smile on their face and know that I've just given someone that "I'm driving a Porsche" feeling. It's an awsome feeling. It's pretty difficult to make someone else that happy any other way.
