Default Ducktail spoiler with impact bumpers? Opinions.

My 78SC engine cover has many very small dimples from years of getting slammed shut, so the easy way would be to replace the whole lid with the ducktail spoiler (assuming it can accomodate the a/c condenser).

Just not sure about the look with the heavier impact bumpers. Pics or opinions appreciated.

Picture a 1974 carrera and you will have what your '78sc will look like. Add the "carrera" graphics to your rocker panel and most people won't be able to tell the difference. In either case, a very nice look. Sorry, I don't have a picture, but check this one out on ebay and you will see what i mean about a nice look.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...QQcmdZViewItem

IMHO ducktails look good on any car. But I might be biased...

mcuozzo, The ducktail on your 993 looks awesome! What a stunning car. May I ask, who was the manufacturer?

Just my opinion, but since you asked...

I feel the visual "weight" of the impact bumpers is better balanced by the more aggressive Carrera tail (tea tray). The duck looks better on the lighter, more streamlined longhoods which have, like the tail itself, simpler lines and contours, making the match perfect. The later cars have more "bulk" to their appearance in flares, bumpers, rocker sills and the like, and so look better either tail-less or with the larger "meatier" wing from the Carrera. And for widebodies like turbos or the TL, the Whale tail suits them well. Again, all IMHO. Good luck deciding.

I like the duck tail on all of them.....does not take away from the flares....everybody has their own opinion...best advice I can give....if you like it....do it....it is your car....your money...my ducktail is in transit for my 87.
