Default clutch replacement

Hello all:
I just droped the 3.0 on my 78 sc to replace a leaky oil cooler so i figured while i had the engine out i would replace the clutch. Well now that i am done i am ready to put the engine back in but i cant figure out how to align the clutch fork so that it engages the throw out bearing. Is there a trick to this? if so please let me know.

Frustrated

Mark: I assume that your trans is still in the car, and hanging free suspended by your axles. If that's the case, set your fork at about a 45 degree angle, and start to slide your engine into it's home position. As you get close use a flashlight and mirror to look through the hole in the left side of the bell housing, by leaning into the engine compartment. The hole will be on the opposite side as the starter, but easy to find. You will see the tips of the fork and the TOB clearly. If the fork is off a little just use a skinny screwdriver to move it into the required position.
