Thumbs up

Ha ...my neck of the woods! ^^^

A 491 body --and the Turbo, natch-- were the dreams of every boy throughout the 80s!!! As well as in red, black, or white. So signature "Porsche" ...so iconic!!!

It was all new to me. Hadn't been on any of the roads we took. Dream drive.

That looks like fun. What was your route? Taking a guess it looks like you started in Downtown Ontario and headed up towards Wrightwood?

The run today started in Canyon County wound around above Palmdale . From there we headed up back roads to ACH and ended up in Montrose. Was a great run with good roads and perfect weather

Dave at TRE posted on Pelican that a rumor was going around about a bunch of car guys having breakfast at Denny's at Sand Canyon and the 14. That's all it took to get 30+ screamers to gather. Wildest part was having a B2B fly overhead to kick off the drive. My FIL served our nation's war birds for 64 years. He entered "The Black World" 35 years ago as this county's top practitioner of stealth. I took one of his Northrop F-5G jackets on this drive.

Doug's post is right on the money

The New Year's day run is kind of a tradition.

You harsh my buzz. Yes, but darn it, it was our fly over.

It circled around and dropped behind the mountain. Likely took off from Nellis AFB because it was too high to have come from Edwards.

I have no idea how to explain this other than to try and draw a picture for you. My old wheel/tire combo was 16x7 w/225 and a 15 mm spacer. My new combo is 16x9 w/245 and no spacer. The new tires are larger in diameter (even though they don't reflect that online) and the wheels have a greater inside offset than the old wheels and I didn't use the spacers. Here is the picture. for fun let's just say I have 2° of negative camber and I drew the left wheel

no intention to harsh your buzz, in that moment it was your flyover for or a great group of P-cars, I love flyovers and think it was cool that the wife puts on the Rose Parade and says heh, look at the wild jet plane! and I get to see the B2B that kicked off the Porsche drive.
