Engine rebuilder reputations
Trying to get background information on engine builders. I have 911sc with broken head studs and need to have them replaced. I have seen adds and spoken to people from various places including Motormeister.
I have heard mixed reviews on Motormeister's workmanship.
Does anyone have any input on this subject?

avoid them at all costs
post your location - you can find lots of good folks if you are in Calif. There are also prestigious shops in Portland (high end race shop but also does everyday stuff) Seattle, and on the East coast. There have been threads on this topic here and on Pelican.
For what you want I would do it locally - only if you are in Outer Rump Roast, Mississippi would you need to ship the engine ....

where are you located? this may help us give you good local info. If you're in Socal, there are a number of good shops out there. Personally, I use Otto's in Venice and have been very happy. 310.399.3221. Otto rebuilt my SC and it runs great!

If you're in the SF bay area, RMG in Sunnyvale has my vote. They did my 87 Carrera and it's been running like a freight train for the last 2 years. They are very thorough, competent and will consult you prior to any out of scope work.
