Aircon (Griffiths) for G-Body
Putting this into the correct Forum for air-cooled 911's, to discuss the Griffiths air con system.
I've been contributing to the other thread here that was in the 997 forum:

Would love to hear about other people's experiences with their G-bodies because the price differences between their options vary from 2k to 5k!
What to go for?!

I went with:
$2514 911 Porsche 1984-89 AC Reliability Package Upgrade 2
in my 86 black on black carrera - in Houston TX - works great in high humidity and high ambient temperature.
Opted to wait on the Hurricane blower as it would require the new box lid.
this set up was recommended by Houston independent Porsche shop that has done multiple conversions.
I'm one year in and very happy so far.

Full four condenser Griffiths with hurricane fan in 2009 with my 88 911 3.2 cab.
pictures from this morning in Alabama. 88 degrees over the road with 30 degree vent temps. Drove home yesterday afternoon with over the road temps at 100 with raging humidity and had 38 degree vent temps and was chilled in the car with no humidity inside and condensation on my rear window.
Works great with great customer service.
good luck!
