Roof rack for 88 Carrera
Have been reading threads on the best roof racks, but can’t find details on G50 models. I have an 88 coupe and want to find a solid solution. Suggestions?

There is a Yakima rain gutter towers with spacer on the rear. Thule makes a similar setup. Don't think they have the spacers but people purchase different front and rear towers.

I've had both the Yakima and the Thule racks on a number of my 911's over they years. The G50 and all of the 911's before it have rain gutter and just about everyone makes racks to work with cars that have gutters. I've carried bikes, skis, snowboards, a cargo box, multiple surfboards, and plenty of hockey sticks. Never once and an issue. Its not exactly a complex situation with a gutter car.

@Pavegeno928 , thanks for the suggestion. Do you have this rack? Ever seen attachments for bikes, or just for cargo?

But if you want to carry bikes, a cargo box, snowboards, etc. get some rain-gutter mounted Yakima or Thule racks and you'll have access to their whole system of special attachments. And those attachments will also be interchangeable with your Yakima or Thule (not both - those are not interchangeable among themselves - round vs. rectangular bars) racks on your other cars, or your friends' cars.
I do that for my other cars (I chose Yakima to standardize on). For my cabriolet, my solution is to put the roof down and pile stuff inside. I've done that with a windsurfer in the fully reclined passenger seat. And used to do it all the time with a mountain bike with the wheels in the front trunk, and the bike tucked behind the front seats. That latter example was fun because it made the drive to the ride as much fun as the ride itself, since most good rides are on remote mountain locations.
