Gauge Options
Hello all,
Just picked up my first "vintage" Porsche. While this is my 4th Porsche, this one is my first 1976 911 Targa.
Its an unfinished 935 tribute car with a rebuilt 3.0/915 , 935 body kit and not much else.
Goal is a street/track car, I have a Cayman S for more refined cruising, comfort is not the priority for this one. That being said, going to have to do this in phases. We just bought a house and have pretty much gutted it, so $$ is going there.
I'm starting by rewiring the whole thing, and the PO said all the gauges may not work. I translate that as "the gauges don't work"
Could be the antique wiring, but would like to know my options for replacing them all.
Not particularity concerned with authentic/period correct. Actually considering getting a RaceLogic and be done with it, but would like to ask for opinions/options, as I'm not sure how far down the race car road I want to go.

one of my first projects was to rewire the gauges on my car some wires were burn pretty sure theres no relays. just take pics and mark them. its not a hard job. id keep the original guages and fix them 1 by 1 except the useless clock.
check pelican parts to see other options
last the headlight switch has no relay if its wired backwards- or your lamps you wire them backwards they will burn very careful.
keep a fire extinguisher close by and a the battery terminal loose
