Earliest year for easy winter daily driving?

I'm interested in an air-cooled to compliment my 2018 T that I can comfortably drive all year long in temperatures down to the teens.
1) What's the earliest model that starts & runs hassle free out of the gates in cold weather? I of course drive conservatively until the oil is up to temperature but I don't want the hassle of finicky starting or more involved warm up requirements
2) What's the earliest year heated seats were an option? Not a requirement, but it would certainly be nice!

A rather odd question. I'd say 964 is the oldest 911 I would consider using as a DD, and heated seats are rare as hens teeth on anything older than that. It isn't even common on any air cooled car.

But you just bought an '18 T? Why aren't you using that as the DD and use the air cooled for weekend fun runs? It would be a strange arrangement to do it the other way around.

I wouldn't go earlier than one of the EFI cars. 3.2 Motronic which would be I think 84??? Although I'm sure earlier cars are FINE, its just the EFI cars frankly, are modern in the way they start up. My 89 can sit for a month and immediately fires up no drama.

Heated seats, I know 964 had them as an option, I am not sure I saw them in the G series cars, so that would be 89+.

Maryland, you don't get a lot of snow right? Salt?

The heaters assuming you have the stock heat exchangers and the stock fan/etc in working order work awesome on these cars.

I typically don't like driving my SC below 40F. The oil never gets up to temp no matter how long you drive it and CIS will work but is kind of finicky unless in perfect shape.

Thanks all! My T I drive in all conditions (snow/salt/rain) but we can have month-long stretches of cold but clear winter weather, so I'd like to be able to drive any T stablemates regularly without headache. Life's too short not to enjoy what I have! Plus, I've tried cold weather storage in the past and things like battery, rodents, etc are just not things I want to deal with.

Earliest id go with is a 964. Drive it and drive a 993 see what you like better
