Good for you! I have no doubt you will enjoy it like no other modern car (even current 911).
There is just something very cool about these air cooled cars. Brings a smile every time I drive my '87.

That is awesome, congrats!

Best thing about high mileage is that you can keep driving them and not worry about keeping the miles down for the next owner.

One of my friends has a 78 Coupe with 465,000 miles on it now. He had the motor rebuilt around 250,000 miles and a repaint about 10 years ago. He still drives the snot out of it !
