Default 1982 911 SC targa

I have a good friend who bought a 1982 911 targa back in 1983...(one owner car)
its all original paint and has 30k original miles.
color is white on black

he might be interested in selling it but has no idea where he should price it.
I did mention that rennlist would be a good place to start.

Does anyone have any idea what he should ask for it?

thanks
chas

If it helps any for your market research:

I just purchased a 1982 Targa in Red Wine Metallic that was listed with a dealer for $42k with ~50k miles. There were some minor issues but all the major stuff was taken care of.

I was happy to pay right around $40k for what I considered (and the PPI revealed) was a very good example of an 82 Targa.

I don't see why he shouldn't start at around $50k to $55k with a sorted one owner car.

With mileage that low, desireable color combo, and 2 owners, he should have it professionally detailed throughout and put it on Bring A Trailer with a $50k reserve. I am guessing he has all the service records?? Telling the story of the car and doing it well is critical. I'd also suggest professionally done photos. With this strategy I am guessing he would easily sail past the reserve. And oh BTW, none of the above applies if it's a 30k mile car that looks like a 90k mile car.

Here is a good comp, although it is a coupe which will generally carry a premium over the targa. Paul hasn't listed his price yet (says available soon) - keep an eye on this for when he does.
