Default Driver side miiror on 1988 Carerra

The glass of the mirror falls out of the frame. I tried to gently/firmly push it back into the housing and it stays for a bit and then falls out again. The wiring is still attached and prevents the glass mirror from falling out complete. It hangs by the wiring. Any advice how to get the mirror glass to stay in the housing?

Thanks,

Dwight

If your mirror looks like the one pictured by AG81, there should be a hole in the bottom center of the mirror housing that you stick a small flat blade up into to rotate the retaining ring which captures the ears he has identified with the red arrows.

Default Mirror issue

The picture is exactly my mirror. So after I psuh the mirror pegs back into the holes I should inset something to rotate the housing and that will secure the mirror?

Thanks,

Dwight
