Default WTB WB G 50 original cupé. Please PM. Thks

Hi,

looking to to buy a clean no stories turbo look factory M491 cupé. I prefer 87-89 for the G50 transmission. Low mileage with documented history prefered. looking for something loved over the years.

Thanks,

Nice car, get your wallet out 😉.
Many consider these even more valuable than turbos as they were made in fewer numbers

What can I say, I’m attracted to shiny things. The problem is that the only one I’ve seen in the intraweb is from an outfit in Miami. Called and ran the other way. I hope I have better luck amongst the gentlemen and Ladies.

I also went through a M491 phase before buying a narrow body G50 coupe. I looked around for a while and they were going between 65k-85k. Beyond being a bit scarce, the M491 offers really no advantage over the narrow body G bodies -they're just bigger and heavier, but they don't offer the power of a 930. Worst of both worlds. Given the $ premium they command, you might just consider a real 930. If you really want something special for scarcity, consider an 89 930 of which there are truly few. Good luck with your search, posting a want ad like this is a great way to find a vehicle. Worked for me on multiple occasions.

Thanks for the sound advice Fastdiablo. You are 100% right. I’ve seen some great 89 Carreras in the last couple of days. Problem is I just can’t get those wide hips and black chaps out of my head. Let’s see if it lasts.

I was in your shoes as well. I came from a 993 S so wide hips were the only thing I'd settle for. Problem is, the M491 cars didn't align with my budget, or the color wasn't right. I ended up with an uncommon narrow G50 Carrera and couldn't be happier.

If I were to do it again, I think I'd go after an 89 Silver Carrera, the anniversary edition. Those are the cars to ****** up right now. Exclusivity is it's own currency in 911 world.

Cheers!
