My 88 911 Outlaw Build

I have to admit the forum is mostly a place to learn and buy parts. I am not much of a social media guy.

This is my first air cooled Porsche build........ but not my first hot rod.

Things I have finished..... Paint Restoration and Stripe.

I've got the interior somewhat disassembled. The dash is finished with A/C relocated to the radio opening.

WEVO Shifter and G50 PSJ is amazing in this car. I highly recommend this mod.

Relocating the tunes underneath the passenger seat using JL Audio 5 Channel and DSP.

Waiting on my fifteen 52 rims, the headlights (shipped already) from John Audette.

Hopefully this type of build thread is ok on the forum.

Subscribed. Looking forward to seeing your build come along; please post as often as possible. I suspect there are many other RL members similar to myself who refresh the site all throughout the day and hope for new material--your build thread will be a welcome addition.
Best to you- Chris

Very nice!

Are you planning on keeping the gauge rings?

Yes........
You will get to see the interior come together soon. Hopefully I'll post door panel pictures by Sunday.

What is the red light to the left of the ignition? Remote radar? That is where my K40 switch is installed and the notification lights are on either side of the tach.

AG81 04-05-2018 01:34 PM

That would be where the circa 1980's aftermarket alarm light was located. I had a friend redo the central locking system and with that I have a modern remote and a new flashy light in the previous location.

Not to Hijack your thread, here is how my K40 was set up.

K40 in 89 911

That is a really sweet setup. Probably something I should look into.

What shift knob is that?

PDACPA 04-05-2018 02:52 PM

The new Escort systems are nice, but expensive. My K40 dates back to 1995 when I bought the car. That being said, it still alerts pretty well. I put my Valentine 1 on the windshield if going on a long trip to be safe. As to the shift knob, I have had it so long I forget. I will look when I go home.

This mod was a lot of work. I'm a glutton for punishment some days. These have to go on this weekend if I want to finish the doors.

The work was worth the effort- they look terrific (and shaved off some weight)!

Thank you. I appreciate that. I got one side on this evening. It's a bunch of work is all I can say.
