California Smog - Anything I Need to Know?
Just transferred a 2008 911 from California to Virginia via CarMax and hope to buy this week. CarMax is inspecting and doing emissions today. The car was originally purchased in North Carolina in 2008 and relocated to California shortly after where it has been until December. Quick question (and yes I am a noob) - was anything done to the exhaust or engine to make it legal in California that should be undone in Virginia? Not concerned about the environment (well I am, but not in terms of my 911!) but performance challenges. Got a lot to learn but for now want to make sure CarMax does the right thing. Thanks in advance.https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...68ada52dae.jpg

See the mountain in the background of the third picture in the OP? The top is called Cucamonga Peak and I climbed it the last day of August last year. |
It is more what has not been done.
The car looks stock which is great. You do not need to do anything to make it legal in Ca from factory, but it is very difficult to to do anything to the car and still have it pass Carb. Now, that you have the car and are in Va you can do whatever you would like to do as long as you follow your emissions. |
