Default Best place to put a g50 targa for sale?

i have a 1988 g50 targa that is very clean. All original paint, all maintenance records, needs nothing. I can't figure out where the best place to list a g50. Rennlist has less traffic than pelican for this generation, but it also seems like nothing really sells through pelican... or they don't do a good job of updating listings

Massachusetts? Take it to Florida or California.

Not really, no. The six digits collector pieces struggle sometimes, and some late models don't get much love, but the mid five digits G- body Porsches, when they're good cars, almost always bring top dollars. I would say your car is a textbook example of the car that does best on bat.

Nice looking Targa! I personally would wait till spring to sell.

Winter is my prime time to buy cars because prices are relatively "soft" and I can usually negotiate a pretty good deal; conversely it is a bad time to sell. This does not apply to the southern tier of the country which is blessed with mild winters. Based on your car's photo, it does not appear you live in the sunny south.

If you are a PCA member, I have had very good luck buying and selling thru the "PCA Classifieds".

couldn’t be further than the truth. You should review some auction history. It is the best venue going. Or Pelican. You don’t see much “activity” because only the poster can comment and isn’t allowed to bump more than 1-2 times a week. Many cars sell without ever getting bumped.

I think you meant to quote the comment on Pelican, not the one on Bat?

I agree that cars like this seem to do well on BAT.

Someone told me I shouldn’t use pictures in snow. It was a nice sunny day so I backed it out on to a snowblown path. Is the snow really that scary to potential buyers? I never drove it in the snow, it’s never seen a snowy road or road salt in it’s 30yrs

Yes snow is looked at with extreme suspicion by 90% of people hence all the rhetoric about "always a California car" and similar. The other 10% od people look at the pictures and say "now that's a real man".

If you price the car correctly and it holds up to your description it will sell very quickly on Pelican/PCA/Rennlist. Ask all the money it will sit, especially in the winter. GLWS
