Since we made this a picture thread. Here's my 74. Work in progress. Has an 85 3.2 in it on original Cis. Not really sure how that works but it's fun. I'm building an engine for it over the winter. Doing a short stroke 2.5 and an SC-RS ratio gearbox. Custom Gleen Yee valved Bilsteins and PMB brakes. That picture is on my 6x15 winter wheels. I have 7&8x16 930 wheels for summer.

a running rust bucket or a solid chassis with an engine in pieces. My 75 targa is the former.

1975 911 S for $77K !

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-77-000-a.html

I passed on a green on tan 77 911 back in 2006.
It had 45,000 miles but passed thinking $14K was too much at the time..
It was in great shape but the motor had serious oil leaks 10,000 miles after the top end was redone from pulled head studs, shop re-installed the thermal-reactors :-(

I was answering your $15k question. A reasonably solid driver needing a range of work and weekend projects is a $20-25k car. And it still likely needs some rust and/or paint work down the road.

I have owned my middie ( Gulf Blue 75 avator pic) for the past 17 or so yrs and yes I did pull the studs after yrs 3 of ownership., So i did a complete 2.7 rebuild with a diff casing, time certed machined it and installed 930 turbo steel studs and have never regretted it or looked back.. I love my 911 and will never sell or trade it.

Tony Lapine designed Porsche's 5mph bumpers. He did a great job with negligible weight difference. I would not have liked to have been a designer when these rules came along.
No 911 before or after does as well in a parking lot.
