Definitely contemplating this, as well as the small event on the 11th.

I drive '79 SC, however I met a local guy (Jay) at a PCA meet over the weekend who drives the Zenith Blue 993. He had said that any aircooled is welcome on the 11th as well??

Thanks for posting this. Was debating about going, just worried it might not be large enough to be worthwhile. But looking like it will be a major event. Just registered.

Cam, what is the event on the 11th? I haven't seen anything about that.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, Cemoto should be able to elaborate further. However, I heard from another local Rennlister with a 993, that it is v2 to an event last year called 993 Day, where a small gathering of Aircooled (mostly 993) got together at Palmer and hung out, did some laps etc. I guess they closed the track specifically for them.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, Cemoto.

Hello Mark,

Cam is referring to a low key private event I ran last year and will do so again this year on Wednesday 10/11.

You will find the link below.

I do not however wish to waterdown Sunday show attendance and am hoping most will attend both. The Sunday show is shaping up to be a really big event.

We have some VERY special and significant cars coming for the show and you will not be disappointed. The dollar value alone of the pre-registered cars caused Palmer to hire undercover plainclothes officers. I cannot divulge anymore but make sure you bring your camera!

If you can only attend one event I'd suggest the show on Sunday.

There will be an opportunity for parade laps around the race course which was voted by Road&Track to be one of the top ten must drives in North America.

Hope you have registered your car and look forward to seeing you at both events.

At the conclusion of the show plaque presentation all show cars will do a couple of parade laps and that alone will be quite the spectacle as the foliage is starting to turn now and Palmer is built into the side of a mountain!

Best regards,

Al

Thanks Al. My car doesn't run yet, so I registered my RAV4 for general parking. Hoping to pick up a few parts and also check out some of the cars. Based on what I read this morning, I was definitely planning to bring my camera.

Will skip the 10/11 event, midweek is tough plus I would have to flatbed my air cooled there.

Thanks for the invite,

Mark

Curious about the photo in your signature. That's Moretti's Nissan GTP car in what looks to be a period photo. I was the guy at Automobile magazine (decal on the engine cover) who worked with Momo on a sponsorship program supporting Gianpierro's IMSA racing efforts all the way up to his Ferrari 333SP.

Bob,

You are correct. I took that photo back in 1993 at Lime Rock Park the weekend P.J. Jones set the still standing track record at 43.112. That is my son along with my wife in the background.
