so what is the trick to getting the guide tube seal into the guide tube, I don''t want to hose it up. Its a tight fit and I put some oil on it but that doesn't 't seem to help?

Hi, Yes the pipes are crumpled with holes, I need new ones, also anyone know the trick to getting the inside guide tube seal into the guide tube. I used some oil but its really tight?

You might want to use something that's a bit wider than the socket wall, like a piece of PVC pipe. Don't drive it in too far, and the spring side should face the inside of the transmission. Here is another thread with some photos: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...haft-seal.html
Also, make sure you wrap the splines on the input shaft with electrical tape before you push the guide tube back into place. The splines are sharp and they can damage the seal.

Randy ..on the link where you can can the seal in place -he said-...........it is in the wrong place .The edge of the seal spring should be even with the end of the tube.But it also depend what tube you have..I have noticed that the position on some tubes is different then others.The seal should be on the smallest inside diametr of the tube.
Also i never ever had any problem with the tube with seal installing it back.No need to use any cover for the trans main shaft -really.
Put the tube in a wise and gently tap it in making sure you do not go too far butt also no not far enough is not good...

hi,if you have it inside the raise area that is correct later tubes have the raise further towards the end ..so you are ok
