A mechanically injected Euro 2.7 Carrera engine would still be worth quite a bit, wouldn't it?

Yes it would, and it would still be a 911/83, it would just have a later serial number.

It sure looks like one. If it's not, someone seems to have gone to a lot of trouble to duplicate one, right down to the air intake snorkel and plumbing, and the red shroud.

That's a 1974 engine. Not an RS engine, but a ROW Carrera engine identical in spec to an RS engine. Still a $25-40k engine by itself.

With that bit of information I would put the whole project at $65-75K. You could have a great time driving it as it is, or restore the body and leave the hot drivetrain in place.

Just got a response from the seller, he's looking at getting 90k CAD for the car. I feel like that's far too high for this car. Would you guys pay 90k for this car..... Needs a full engine out respray, other than that I could slowly revert to stock, but I would more than likely do a proper RSR look alike conversion.

What would be your top comfortable dollar you would spend? Assuming the motor is solid.

You are still thin on details regarding things like the body. Is it glass or steel? Who did the work? Things I asked right off the bat.

Fenders and whale tail are fibreglass
Rest is steel it appears.

Work supposedly was done in Germany over 35 years ago prior to this owner. Therefore work is unknown.

Thanks again

You might be looking at genuine RS steel then. If you were to take the car back to stock, you want to make sure that stuff is properly removed. It is worth some real money.
