Is your car a 4RS?

No doubt. But still a recurring problem with the same result.

Unless you are told, you’re unlikely to know in the case of GT4 RS.

Engine replacement is only a point of note/value in the case of the 991.1 GT3/RS where the impression is that it makes a material difference even though all iterations of that unit E-G have the same weakness its just that the later ones might take a bit longer to show symptoms.
Regarding how you’d know engine replacement, you’d either need to get records from the dealer or get the engine number from Porsche and then compare it to what was on the car.

Porsche people are some of the most picky out there in terms of originality of paint, engine/trans and everything else. Not saying it’s right or wrong, just what I’ve observed.

Personally, I believe in ethics. If someone was withholding information like an engine replacement, I’d be livid. One of the downsides of buying used cars. You never really know hidden secrets.
I will disclose when I sell mine.

An engine replacement definitely doesn't help the value in this case.

You could argue that if the car has 100 000 km on the clock that a new engine would be a good thing, but in a near new car? No, once things are taken apart they never quite go back together the same way they did in the factory and that will probably scare away some buyers. I think the effect would be somewhat small but non zero.

With all due respect, there’s no evidence or validity to your opinion. 718 motors get dropped for many routine repairs. The replacement motor wasn’t taken apart, it was replaced with a factory crated motor. There’s no reason to believe there is anything negative or detrimental with a replacement motor other than the perception. If perception rather than fact guides your decision, then one of these cars wouldn’t be for you.

Hence why I said it would be a small effect. Especially when you consider what else might have happened, did the gearbox suffer any incidental damage when the engine seized? Probably not, but it might have. Not to mention I barely trust the average dealer technician to change my oil, let alone replace an engine.

What routine repairs are these motors getting dropped for?

Any other 4RS's out there with serious failures that have no been reported thus far on the forum?
In addition to a replacement engine, did Porsche offer compensation?

Working through that now. I would like to see an extension of warranty.

I’d be surprised if this could immediately be invoked.
Maybe after multiple attempts to resolved and issues persist. But this ought to be a one and done
