I don't think that is the case, every other PCM I've seen has all the connectors in place regardless of what options the car has.
Just completed the AIO activation on my '22 Boxster GTS4.0. FWIW, my car had the GPS antenna already installed, as well as 21/22 NAR maps loaded.

Bill, which port is for the LVDS cable to connect to the cluster. Is the LVDS cable also already installed and connected in your car?

Nice, we finally found some cars with pre installed GPS.

would be interesting now if this can somehow be seen.
why the GEM sometimes only shows - when antenna is installed is so far unclear.

The LVDS cable plugs into the grey connector on the back of the PCM, and into the teal connector on the instrument cluster.. And no, my car didn't have the cable, I added it a week ago. I'll have to have some extra help making the readout in the cluster visable once I get the Nav running on the PCM, but I'm confident it will work due to the pioneering work of 718socal on this thread.

Did you use a generic LVDS cable? I see it needs a 90 degree connector on the PCM, is it a straight or a 90 on the cluster end? Length? I'm also going to need help with the cluster, is PIWIS the only way to code the cluster? Thanks!

I used the OEM LVDS cable Part Number 9P3-979-001. It's straight on the cluster end. Length is 730 mm. I don't know if an OBD tool like Launch or other can code the cluster. I just used PIWIS

718socal answered your questions, but I also used the factory cable. I never could find a genetic the proper length except from UK and I wasn't interested in going through that process. I assume a Launch scanner can code the cluster function, X431 maybe? But I'm going by what I read that someone did it successfully using other than PIWIS.

But update your PCM to latest FW and activate all functions. To use NAV in PCM you also might have to add GPS antenna, as many non Nav cars are not fitted with one.

NAV in cluster always needs coding + additional cable (in most but not all cases).
CaneTLOTW, Thank you for all your efforts! Is it possible to determine if my '22 Boxster has the LVDS cable installed by factory without pulling the PCM or instrument cluster? It did have the GPS antenna and NA 21/22 Maps database. TIA.

It's easy enough to pull the PCM to check, two panels pop out of each side of the console, 4 T20 screws hold the PCM in, and slide it out to look for the blue cable connector. 5 minute job.

I am pretty sure you don't have the LVDS cable. If you know someone with PETKA online, they can run a search with your VIN. Mine showed the LVDS cable was missing under Navigation

I finally got my Nav working today, along with the cluster screen showing the map and navigation directions. I have to give all the credit to 718socal, he worked tirelessly for three days off and on, finding bugs, getting new files, downloading, downloading, etc. and several times I was ready to throw in the towel but he had the patience of Job to keep at it and get it done. He won't take compensation for his work, but I have to let everyone know how dedicated he is to help us computer imbeciles until the Nav and maps are up and running.

I had the trim pieces off from checking for a gps antenna, which was already installed. All back to normal and I'm going for a drive shortly to try out my new factory nav! I think now I would be able to install myself from the SD cards, and I still have the 20-21 maps installed but the 22 maps are on my SD card and I"ll update with them soon.

Hey I am glad it's working out for you. It is a team effort with a lot of testing and fine tuning. @CaneTLOTW puts a lot of work into MIB. None could be possible without him and others. You can help other members now 👍

No, I added the compass on the advice of 718socal to check to see if my gps antenna was working, when it populated we knew it was OK. I've changed it to altitude but will likely change it again, options include time or arrival, distance remaining and a couple of others Ithink. Cool feature.

I checked for gps compass through home where you can set up a personalized screen before I had nav retrofitted.

Before I was told w/ nav retrofit the cluster wasn’t possible but are you all telling me in my 17 base Boxster I can add nav to cluster by adding 1 cable and piwis coding?

He @718socal has done it successfully on his car, proven good working. He is the pioneer.
