Default Auto Start-Stop for the GT4 RS

I was watching this video and noticed there is not A.S.S. button on the GT4 RS. Instead, they have the FAL button if you spec that option. That is another win for team AP!

Nice! Even more reason to get an RS! I wonder if it has cylinder deactivation? I don't remember if the 992 GT3 has it, I know the 991.2 doesn’t.

Highly unlikely. German law frowns upon idling. Probably a pre-production unit.

On the Configurator Technical Specifications page it lists Auto Stop Start.

I did not see Adaptive Cylinder Control though…

On the GT3, you have to either change the steering wheel mode selector out of Normal to turn off *** or use the touch screen. There is no switch for it.

Well, that's a total bummer!

I hope maybe it's a misprint.

Pretty sure it’ll be same as GT3 (no cylinder deactivation, but yes Auto Start Stip that you can turn off, but defaults to On every time you start the car)

In the 992 GT3, don't you turn it off int he infotainment system? Is the PCM 4.0 in the GT4 RS sophisticated enough to allow this because I'm not sure where the on/off "switch" would be buried? Maybe the toggle lever for the little screen next to the speedo but that would be such a pain to have to go into the menu every time to turn it off. I would much prefer the current button method on the GT4/Spyder to a menu toggle.

I wonder if they removed it for the NA market. This car clearly has it.

I'm very self conscious about my A.S.S. I feel embarrassment when other people see my A.S.S. in action in public. But I do actually like the cylinder deactivation functionality. It works seamlessly, and although the noise it makes is jarring, the cylinder deactivation faeture is a significant fuel efficiency improvement on the highway in my GT4 in my experience. I just wish there was a way to deactivate my A.S.S. without also turning off cylinder deactivation at cruising speeds.

I saw a new GT3 leaving the dealer today and as he stopped to turn and leave, the car shut off...then he caught it and it re-started. omg A.S.S. on a GT3. My 991.2 didn't have that.

As for public A.S.S., if my girlfriend can do it, so can you.

interesting - think that’s it on bottom right. 992 doesn’t have that, but I forgot that 718 has a different infotainment setup

How does this work on the manual GT3?
