$30K+ for Weissach + Mag Wheels. I think the car is good to go with just the standard equipment. $166K CAD is a steal.

I completely agree.

In fact, I will go as far as to say, that sitting next to the GT4, I like the looks of the GT4 more, san the swan neck wing, that looks amazing.

It also looks like that while they kept the same tire size, the pushed out the front wheels with different ET for a more flushed look.

My ideal spec is also without WP. I think it looks better. Never liked the mismatch with some carbon stuff and some plastic parts. I'll take all plastic any day.

I was speccing a GT4 with $30k of options and can easily spec this with $12k to make it equivalent. Makes the delta much more reasonable.

Maybe this is why GT4 allocations are slim pickings. They're just going to build more of these!

There is a sizable contingent of Porsche buyers who prefer rear-engine. They can both be great, but there is no other choice than a 911 if you prefer rear.

As a stripper it would be a great track car. I’ll wait for the 718 GT4 RS Touring with 6 MT

Yes, the RS models always look a little too boy racer. But careful selection of colors will help. As I was mulling over my Lotus Emira deposit vs. keeping my GT4, I thought the looks category goes to the Lotus, but Porsche has the better engine. This RS just makes it even more extreme (even more ugly but even better engine).

Here is my build!

$152,550

I would be open to it with an allocation at MSRP. I don't think I'll get one though.

I think our luxury tax is worse than paying ADM. Guys in BC get hammered at the provincial and federal levels.

$140k cad for this and it comes with pdk and buckets standard? I’m very surprised. If you were planning on getting a GT4 with those 2 options that makes this crazy good value and if you’re lucky enough to be liked by your dealer enough to actually be able to order an almost stripper version at msrp you are getting some real good value.

2 negative opinions though:
  1. Magnesium wheels ….. quite the price gouge there for them. No way I’d option those for that money (I have a set of magnesium rims. The weight savings on OE magnesium rims is often less than what aftermarket aluminum rims). IMO they do not make sense on a street car because they still weigh a ton due to street safety. If you pick up a magnesium wheel for a open wheel car….. I can lift those with a tire mounted with one finger.
  2. Color selection for a RS is wonky. 2 whites 2 greys 1 black and 1 super dark blue that looks black half the time, and 3 colors that stand out.

Great point... can't wait for January 1st and the new luxury tax to come in. My GT4 is Jan build. Ugh..
