I agree. I've talked to many owners of a 4RS along with their 992 GT3 or 991 GT3RS's and there's basically two camps of 4RS ownership:
1. They hate the 4RS because it isn't confidence inspiring to them like the GT3/RS platform. These guys to me are the ones who care more about being the fastest in the canyon or track but not the ones who have the most fun. Others in this camp barely drive their cars in the canyons/track and when they do they don't want to have to work hard. Yes, the 4RS is "compromised" where mine struggles for traction in a straight line on any uneven backroad because of the suspension/lack of rear tire.
2. The 4RS is their favorite modern Porsche to drive because of the aural experience, it feels harder to handle and you have to try harder to be fast. Those things make the 4RS more "fun" to drive because it isn't as easy as the GT3/RS and they care about having fun/emotional feeling instead of being the fastest or in the easiest car to drive.
Most of the guys selling their 4RS's after trying them fall into camp #1 and those guys who fall into #2 now consider the 4RS one of the all time greats.

Different vibes this sub forum where the flippers are turning them back in because they’re too loud LOL (presumably they didn’t watch any reviews prior to ordering).

Pretty much an accurate sum up of how things are. I thought my old 718GT4 was too quiet until I fitted a Fabspeed exhaust. My 4RS although loud makes the hairs on the nape of my neck stand up at all speeds which is what any Porsche RS should be about.

I'm hearing stories about people not liking their 4RS because they find it too loud. This makes me wonder if the SRS will be too loud. Would appreciate hearing y'all 4RS owners on how loud the car is, compared to other cars. I drove my friend's 4RS briefly and didn't find it too loud, but I was driving the car more modestly than I would drive my own car - I need to drive it again, and will hopefully do that this weekend.
I rode in a friend's 4RS and heard it be as loud as it gets and it really isn't an issue. It's only loud when you want it to be and when it is... it's just great fun. Not ear splitting or anything. The SRS will be similar if not better. Too loud isn't a thing to be worried about.

If I didn't already have three "convertibles" I would be all over the SRS. Top down with the motorsport 4.0 and the induction noise, it will be unbelievable

Gotta love the irony of complaining about old rich people on a Porsche forum.

porsche is making thousands of absolutely killer cars every year and everyone just complains about all of them. I used to rely on opinions on rennlist and journalists to make decisions on cars. I now realize, having gotten seat time in a lot of the models, 99% of these hot takes are noise or intentionally misleading and nobody knows what they are talking about.
if you can get any of the 718s or 911 with 4.0 or 3.75 engine they are all masterpieces with slightly different use cases. I think it’s likely the SRS will be the second best Porsche of all time for me. I may not get an allocation so I hope at least a few people who get one hate the roof and find it too loud and stiff!

I’ve always defaulted to spec’ing cars exactly how I want them, even if I know there might be a more “desirable” option. But, oh boy, this is a big one. I am actually considering spec’ing sofas in an srs . Ok, I put it in print so it’s official. Zero doubt I love how buckets look. Sofas are a visual crying shame in an open top spyder no less! Buckets are more fun on shorter drives but man, my **** and back are sometimes begging for a fully adjustable, heated, ventilated, full leather sofa seat.
Edit: as I checked the configurator, it looks like leather / heat / ventilation aren’t available anyway. And I at least know how to add heat to bucket inserts. I might be able to hold off the sofa temptation after all . But if there was a full leather, heated, ventilated, multi-way adjustment sofa, I fear I’d fall victim to the comfort.

Agreed, sofas in a spyder are a visual -5. Buckets look dead sexy. Worth paying the price, imo. Don’t wear converse with your Armani suit.

I would go sofas in SRS.
I've got buckets in the GT4rs, 18ways in the Targa, and 4ways in Boxster. Buckets are the most challenging for every day
