No I was referring more to speed like traction above 50mph, for my local track. This car will probably get up to 165-170mph down the back straight.

Butt Clench first time you do it inadvertently on public road.

Said where, here on Rennlist? Official citation?

So much is said here without a single credible bit of proof to back it up, usually more a WAG!

I do recall there being mention of both a torque limitation and rev limitation with the gearbox mentioned in one of the many videos with AP (one of the 4RS launch videos), just can't recall which one.

Regardless, anyone who thinks this motor is coming with a manual in one of the mid engine cars hasn't been paying attention to any of the several credible sources on the board.

Perhaps, but to say a person is credible and accept said statements as factual is bit presumptuous, number of posts or correct guesses are not methods of determining factual information.

I guess that it takes too much effort, or it is too much to ask for official and verifiable information.

I live in hope there will be. Bought a 4RS and have a Spyder RS coming next year sometime..... all in the dream of trading one of the two back to the dealer if the rumored R ever sees the light of day. I sure hope the cleaning ladies keep their eyes open in the middle of the night.

The R is the 718 Spyder manual we already have… eventually just add an exhaust.
Then what do you want more?!😅

It’s hard decision to trade in my Spyder; need to do it but very difficult and I already know it’s a more complete car than the incoming SRS

I have already watched them multiple times, and if by 'proof', this is spoken words that it comes with the PDK... then you do realize that this is a marketing launch advertisements, not a technical deep dive explaining the design choices based on engineering?

What I am saying is Porsche has said things and after a bit more time and engineering reversed a stand and brought out the options that was previously not possible to do, remember?

In this case they have the MT in the Speedster with the same engine, it can be done in the 718, but will they?

Such an interesting statement, so conflicted, trading in what I read to you as a more complete (and sounds like more desirable) Spyder, for the SRS.

I have not been able to reach that same decision, I love my Spyder so much, as you say it is so complete.

If they can put a manual in a 718, 4.0l, 6 cyl, GTS, what is so different in a 4.0L, 6cyl, GT motor that it doesn't fit in a 718?

Moot issue for me however - as I would like this car in a PDK...

Was sitting on a patio enjoying dinner, with my spyder parked across the parking lot. Couldn’t take my eyes off of it. Such a gorgeous car! To make an age appropriate comparison to a beautiful female…Raquel Welch. Would Raquel be improved with tats (naca ducts and fender vents) and a “racier” nature? lol
