Will it be for everyone? …No. Is it suppose to be? No. It is a Spyder version of the GT4 RS. RS means lightweight, so the removable top makes perfect sense. Means less weight.
Main differences from the 4RS:
Same comments as any new RS… too over the top… blah blah. I for one love it and I am getting one. It’s a Spyder version of the 4RS as much is a Spyder in relation to the GT4. They will sell out and be more rare than anything. It will be the one and only Mid-Engined ICE drop top RS Porsche makes… that is something! Judging by the 4RS… this will be a hoot.
Main differences from the 4RS:
- Shaped front Lip
- Black Window Frame
- Removable 2 piece roof (Sunshade and back weather protector)
- Air Intake scoops
- Enlarged stationary Duck Tail

I wonder if it’ll have a launch colour.

Actually it is the opposite - the GT4 is Spyder with the roof and wing added 😊

Do the canary island pics not indicate the config is settled, and that is the launch color? Or I am reading too much into a photo shoot?

Interesting. I was told this week that the car will not be happened due to the supply chain issues Porsche has been suffering for the mid engined cars especially. I guess we will see.

Is it possible the weight savings from the flimsy top and fixed ducktail offsets the gain from a pdk and this ends up being the lightest weight GT product when spec with, pccb, buckets, WP and mags?
Would be cool if the rear deck lid was carbon fiber like the speedster in return for not getting g the cool carbon airbox

If they cancelled the car they could still get the photo shoot done as management decides on a separate level than photographers, they just get the work done and then management can still cancel. The car is 100% finalized at this time, so unless something tragic happened in production the car is coming out.

Either it’s last minute board decision, or it’s coming and we’ll finally have a roadster mid engined Porsche with a screaming GT3 engine. And this happening in EV and restrictions days is even more incredible

So- do you buy one of these, or believe Shmee (and other cleaning ladies) and wait for the speculative, rumored, hoped-for, mythological, unobtainable, limited-number, unicorn manual R?
