But if I accept your premise that a Spyder RS is $350,000 I’d rather have that than the hunchback of Notre Dame…991.2 Speedster sells for that and up.

Does the Spyder have a compromised rear suspension??? Or do i read you wrong?
If at all these cars have a compromised front suspension. At least compared to the double wishbone setup of the 992 GT3.

The spyder has the front end from the 991.2 gt3. I think it’s fine.
The reason they went double wishbone in the front on the 992 gt3 is the turn-in issue with a rear engined car. The mid-engined spyder turns in great, already. Same reason they aren’t bothering with rear wheel steering on the mid-engined cars.

718s have a strut rear suspension vs multilink on the 911s. It results in toe changes during the compression stroke and a generally less settled rear end over bumpy stuff

The strut suspension on the Spyder/GT4 is more old school and afaic gives the car some character. That doesn’t mean it’s compromised. Unless track numbers that best cars with more advanced setups and 1.06G is considered compromised. Many people prefer the handling feel of the mid engine Porsches over the 911. And part of that handling feel is the strut suspension Some people who track their Spyder/GT4 make a few minor suspension tweaks such as aftermarket toe-links to better optimize the handling. But even the 991/992 can benefit from optimization.
I still find it strange that many of the folks who seem to have the biggest issue over the strut suspension never even track their car where the dynamic envelop of the car can actually be pushed.
As far as the 991 Speedster is concerned, The only thing I find compelling about it over a possible Spyder RS PDK is the MT. The Spyder is imo the prettiest open top production car Porsche makes and one of the most aesthetically pleasing sports cars you can buy today. But then again I think cars with simple elegant lines and compact proportions like the Ferrari GTO 250, the Dino, the AC Cobra, the 718RSK the 911S are the pinnacle of sports car aesthetics. Some people like a generic melange of swoops, scoops, wings in a super wide, low look at me stance. I have a feeling the Spyder SpyderRS will age very very well.
That said I wouldn’t pay 350k for a SpyderRS, a GT4RS or a Speedster. Particularly when the 718 Spyder with an MT is so close to sports car perfection for leas than half that price.

I agree, the 'regular' Spyder is so good that I would have a hard time justifying the financial step up to get a RS.

So what's the next motorshow that is coming up that we can anticipate this car to be released at, only to be disappointed when they announce another 911 variant that nobody wants?

Er, no. There is no more Geneva auto show in Geneva or in March. It’s now the Geneva Motor Show of Qatar which will be in October. I’m not even kidding. https://www.gims.swiss/

Oh yeah, I did hear that, and obviously forgot. But the "Er" wasn't really called for, though.

My dealer is expecting ADM of $50k to $75k but it hasn’t been finalized. Hope it doesn’t jump to $100k.
