Burning Brakes
Have a 911 Carrera coupe on the Composer going to Porsche Colorado Springs and I thought the car would off load in Houston and truck to Colorado Springs. But the TMD program says the car will leave the ship inSan Francisco (Benecia) and truck from there to the dealer.
now the car has to stay on the ship for weeks later as it steams down to the canal and back up along the west coast of Panama. AndMexico and the states. Maybe my car is buried in the ships hood behind a lot of cars that unload in San Francisco?
really it is rather cruel of Porsche to provide all this information on the ship carrying our car -

Curious when your original order was and build date. The local dealer hasn't had any allocations now for a long time and said they weren't building the GT4 right now, which is very possibly an outright lie as I have been waiting on an allocation.

Delivery for 718 BGTS 4.0 - Check!
Time for bitter sweet good byes! Received my delivery after a lot of confusion this past Saturday. My online profile never updated after stage 3 and my SA's internal system didnt update with shipping info either at any point and the suddenly last Wednesday I received an update saying my car was now shipped. Based on previous experiences in this thread, I had a feeling my car had just randomly arrived. I texted my SA and received no response. Like the crazy anxious types we all are, I decided to simply drive to the dealership after work and saw my SA there. He smiled at my anxiousness and told me my car had just arrived and was parked in the lot. He left for the day but told me to go walk around and take some pics.
We spoke Thursday morning and arranged for a Saturday pick up after the front end was fully PPF-ed and windows were tinted.
After having put just about 500kms in 2 days of driving, I can say that I have forgotten about my 10 month wait. This (718 BGTS 4.0) being my first ever Porsche, is one of the best cars I have ever owned. Having owned the 2016 M4, and a 2021 M3 previously, I am surprised at how superior it feels to the prior machines! This is also my first NA engine so I was looking forward to it and the difference compared to the turbos is so much more enjoyable. The linear power and the engine being right behind me create pure joyful moments of grins that only another "car guy/girl" can admire.
I was concerned about ordering a PDK this time around so my wife can enjoy the convertible car as well but some how the PDK's effectiveness and feel has left me with no regrets for choosing it over the manual.
I am extremely happily going to exit this thread and enter through the doors of now officially being a "Porsche owner" - a dream has come true!

believe he’s referring to Siem Confucius, which left Baltimore after about 20 hrs in port; fairly typical.
