Official Waiting Room for 718 Spyder / GT4 / GTS Delivery...

More “waiting room” type stuff… since the potential delivery day is getting closer, I started looking around at insurance. GEICO is quoting around $1,600 a year to add the Spyder to our policy, while Haggarty is quoting $3,300. I guess I keep it easy and stick with one bill. If we ever wind up in some parallel universe where the Spyder is commanding ridiculous used prices I guess I’ll revisit it. Overall, not bad considering the Spyder is roughly three times more expensive than anything else I’ve owned… I was bracing for a bigger shock.

In other controversial “insurance” type discussions, I am 99% sure I’m just going with a good ceramic (probably Modesta) and skipping the PPF at least initially. Might eventually go with something different like a stealth wrap to get matte Chalk.

Folks in Oregon and California should consider Wawanesa Insurance. I've been with them for a looong time and their rates have never been matched nor beaten (or even close), and I've shopped around considerably.

I actually just switched from Wawanesa (been a customer for maybe 15 years) to Porsche Insurance; rates were similar but Porsche gave me an option to pay monthly. I still use them for my condo insurance.

Circling back for the 4/29 lock date folks, just for kicks I decided to take a look at my homepage for MyPorsche.com. To my surprise I got a new message saying my GT4 is now scheduled for production, even though TYD still has blank dates. Maybe the delay won't be so bad.
What I see when I go to myporsche.com
What I see when I click "Discover current phase"

I wonder how many emails they get saying “I better not be getting the wheels shown on TYD”

Mine has been saying "Your vehicle is now scheduled for production" since 4/4/22 but still no other dates. If it's scheduled then tell me the scheduled date!! GRRRR. Still hoping that email with the 4/29/22 lock date is a sign of good things.

Well we’re anchored… the next wait begins. 🤣
The upside is that means it’s bed time.
