Bolster covers for the win

Another question for all of you experts. I currently do not have dual zone climate control selected in my GT4 build. I never used the "auto" function in my previous cars, as I hate how noisy the fans get. I just either set the temperature to the coldest temp with fans on 1-2 in the summer or highest temp with fans on 2-3 in the winter. Any reason to spring for the dual zone?

THIS! I never use the auto function because it's so damn loud.
As for the seats, I am leaning for the base seats. I would like the 18-way adjustable seats if they had a memory option, but for some reason, it's not available in the GT4. Due to the bolstering of the seats you have specced, it's certainly much easier to get in and out of than the buckets I would imagine. Would you agree with that? Speaking of, do you see any premature wear on the side bolsters? That was a major issue in my 2018 M3, and I suspect it would have been an issue in my 2021 M4 if I kept it longer (although I changed how I got out of the car in an attempt to delay the inevitable). Thanks for your time!

You potentially are putting a lot of stress on the seat when you get in and out if your bolsters look crappy after a few years so I'm guessing all your cars will end up with the same problem unless you figure out a solution. I'm not that small (6' 3, 220lbs) so it's not like I never touch my bolsters. The only other car I've owned long term was an acura RSX which i drove from new until about 110000km and didn't have any bolster wear on those, and those are fake leather bolsters so are known to crack so I know there are are ways to get in and out without destroying it.
ALso, if you keep your car dirty dirt acts as an abrasive and wears through the plastic coating on the leather seats, and that allows them to start wearing very quickly. I keep my cars anally clean so that is possibly also why I do not see wear and tear on my seats.

I'm at 155000km on my F chassis and it's side bolsters still look almost like new. As long as it's not leatherette BMW seats are amazing for wear so you sohuld not of had noticable wear on a 2018 imo.

BTW: Thank you for taking the time to post a picture of your seats and responding to my inquiry. Very kind of you.
EDIT: You can see some slight lines forming on your side bolster. That's exactly where my wear was and how it started, albeit at far fewer miles than yours.

I got this from my SA today. Good news for all of us waiting in line to get our 718s! He also said that my CP8.0 date just moved out from 11 March to 18 March, but my delivery date remained at 29 April.

Old news. And has been pointed out...is worded so it could mean nothing. "currently not affected" leaves room for the cutoff on the 14th as noted.
