718 GT4RS

The last paragraph in this interview with Walliser, head of sports cars for Porsche, would seem to indicate there are no firm plans to go further upmarket on the 718.

At least I now know I will get my GT4 with a PDK.

Yeah I wouldn't trust their interviews either. They want you to buy a GT4 now and then trade in for the RS when it's announced

Would be very surprised if a GT4 RS came in manual. The RS formula is very simple - tweak the latest platform to give ultimate performance. Also for many the RS formula doesn’t deliver a liveable car. There may be nothing better than an RS but they’re not for everyone.

GT4RS is definitely happening. My dealer principle has seen renderings at a private Porsche meeting. The also showed off 992 GT3 at global dealer training for Taycan in Barcelona last month.

isn't it possible the hipo version seen on ring is gt4 clubsport track only car? I don't see a street version rs over the regular gt4. gt4 w pdk is all I would expect but that's all opinion w nothing to back it up

Whatever the spotted car might be a track only car, several members were confirmed this GT4 RS to happen by their Porsche center, me included, with opening list discussions engaged... I should be called once they have further details on prices, specs etc..

I haven't heard any info when it would be shown. Anyone have insider rumours? I doubt Geneva 2020. Maybe fall 2020?

No one has seen the black car again and as a fellow RL member here says...Porsche is the master of misinformation and misdirection. From experience, dealers are just clueless most of the time on what's down the pipeline.
Hey...but it doesn't cost a cent to dream and there's a very small slight chance the RS may happen.

Take a slow selling model, make some minimal changes to an existing hot version of it, charge a huge premium, add an option to not paint few panels and throw in a badge for even more money, screw up logistics so the option is not available on Mondays, Weds and Fridays... And watch people run over each to give you their money.. same time get great press and win few coty awards. Porsche would be raving mad to not do a RS.
