I don't think the GT4RS is coming out until late in the year. It would be the 911 turbo next.

from Sportscar365***Porsche’s 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport is utilizing a new side window intake. The intake, which was recently approved by SRO, will be making its global debut this weekend on all of the current-generation Porsche GT4 entries.
***Only the No. 46 Nolasport and No. 54 Black Swan Racing entries are previous-gen Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MRs this weekend that also do not have the intake update.

Looks like my guess turned out to be true.....

So cool. There were some reports that the Cayman suffered high intake temps because of the circuitous route from the side intake to the back of the engine. If they flip the airbox so it faces forward like a 911 set-up (originally the 9A1 was flipped from the 911 for the Cayman so the airbox is flipped again to face backwards) and can pull air immediately down from the side windows you'd get super short intake track and less heat issues. Not sure where the airfilters go but at least higher up they won't get as filthy as fast as the stock side intakes. If there was one thing I'd try to rob from the 718 and adapt to my 981 it would be a shorter intake set-up. Bet it sounds awesome too....

Whoa! Not what I expected but very cool. Does this mean there are changes as well to engine cooling now that there's no air directed to engine intake in the side intakes? I'm surprised, this is an even longer intake path but presumably the advantage here is ability to use larger panel filters like the gt3 vs the cone filters?

How long before BGB and Dundon are selling the upgrade ?
#206
You can do the upgrade as long as you are Ok with the tubes running inside the car, no side windows and making a hole from the trunk into the engine bay.
The windows issue could be solved by making those NACA ducts from a transparent material.....I think the Singer DLS uses a similar solution.

drove down to COTA this morning to watch the Sprint X race and see the mod, take some pictures
the #47 won the race as well as yesterday's race (has the new mod), the #46 is the old style without the mod (as is the #37 RS1 car)
seems like you wouldn't be able to use the car as a daily driver with this mod
about 30 cars in the field (McLaren, Audi, Ginettea, KTM Aston Martin (finished second) and BMW M4 (finished 3rd)

Wouldn’t it be sick if the side window air ducts made it into the RS though? I mean I’m sure it could be engineered for street. But not sure if the itch is worth the scratch for the GT department...hopefully yes as it would be such a unique feature and performance mod.
