Carmine Red - thoughts appreciated

I had a GR 981. When it came time to order my GTS 4.0, I wanted Carmine and damn the cost. I saw the two colours together, and while I still think Carmine is beautiful, I actually prefer the Guard's Red. You can't lose with either.

As an owner of a Guards red, I think Carmine is beautiful and if you like it, it's worth the upcharge. I echo the sentiments of others about optioning the calipers in black because the calipers will look almost orange against Carmine. I would also save the money and not take the black spoiler. My take on the premium colors is if I'm paying extra for it, I'd want it to cover as many of the surfaces that don't have an upcharge as possible. And if you do want to play with a black spoiler later, you can easily have it vinyl wrapped. I would also color match the roll hoops. They really upscale the look from what I've seen. I'm not a fan of beige in the interior at all as it just never seems to age well but it makes sense to have light colored seats in a convertible and I don't know if any other color would work with Carmine.

Hello all: I just got an allocation for a Boxter GTS 4.0 and I am working on my build. Currently going with Carmine Red and Black/Luxor Beige interior. I typically do more sedate colors (white/silver/black) but decided to go brighter this time. I am turning 55 and decided to use a late mid-life crisis as an excuse.
All thoughts are welcome. I am so excited. Thank you all!

That is a stunning color! Must be impossible to frown while driving it in the daylight lol. Any plans to wrap it in PPF?

As others have said, Carmine Red is a phenomenal color. It is a GTS, get it in its classic GTS color. I always think sports car should have an uncommon color. Go for it and don't look back! I wish I can get a GT4 in Carmine Red and not go PTS.

I would recommend a long hard look at the Natural Leather interior though:

That’s a beautiful combination.
My favorite color is white. I absolutely hate metallic but sometimes there’s no choice.
Non-metallic paint jobs, especially white, are two stage.
Although I just placed an order for a Spyder, I did build a few GTS’s and chose white, GTS black interior with a blue top. An absolutely beautiful combination with enough eye candy contrast to make up for an all white car.
Porsche USA site is wonky this AM but I’ll post my build code.

I think CR is a stunning color!!!! It needs to be seen in person. I would go with the GTS interior package with it though.

You should get what you want, don't listen to us, here is my Brother In Laws 9
11 Carrer 4S in carmine red with red calipers. My wallet isn't as stacked so I ordered my 718 in Guards Red with a black interior, still not decided in painting the roll hoops red but not locked in yet

Great spec, red over tan is a classic sports car combination and Carmine is definitely one of my favourite reds from all car manufacturers
Maybe consider PDLS headlights in black, they will compliment the darker red of Carmine really well in my opinion, along with the black calipers if you go that route
