The GTS 4.0 is around $16K cheaper than the GT4 on the Russian configurator. Fairly significant.

One thing I noted on the interior pics of the configurator is that the GTS has a lower red line than the GT4 which is at 8K. Looks like the old NA tach which goes red from 7600.

Porsche plays games with weights and options (base, lightest, options availability on one and not the other, etc.) to muddy the waters and to make apples to apples comparisons between models or generations hard. Can anyone confirm that the 4.0 engine is 66lbs heavier than the 2.5T?

In first gear, the 4.0 could already exceed 4500 RPM by the time the turbos spool up on the 2.5T. Now, if you're cruising at 2K RPM in third gear, floor it, and wait for the turbos to spool up, the 2.5T might be slightly better. I've driven 718s and was never particularly impressed by usefulness of low end torque due to the turbo lag.

gts needs pdk while gt4 should be stick. that would help differentiate them. i would love a boxster gts over a c8 but too much trouble to get boxster approved for hpde. c8 is targa so best of both worlds. still a gorgeous car in that green

Don't hold your breath... My dealer today told me that the GTS 4.0 will probably only come to North America in the summer of 2021, more than a year from now.

I'm one that believes the Cayman will always have an ICE although an hybrid or even fully version may be available in the future but not soon.

As for summer 2021, that very possible looking on how behind schedule they delivering the GT4, Spyder and T versions. Also the GTS 4.0 just became available in Germany/Europe so an extra year for us to get it is totally in line.
