Have a look at the Spyder picture below, a PTS Factory plated company vehicle. Interesting that it only has the “Spyder” as the rear script.....so much for the identity crisis?

Also have a look at the placement of the “Spyder” script it is located centered under the Porsche script.

Fake news. Brilliant sports car, demand consistent with expectations for a 2 seater sports car

The dealers might not be acknowledging it to you in person but if you search any dealer's inventory, you will still see 2019 718's on the lots
More fake news. MOST dealers do not have the cars and have to pay almost MSRP to buy them at Porsche auctions.

with 2021 inventory coming right around the corner.
2021 inventory won’t be out for a few months. And not going to be discounted by much.

If you're planning to purchase a 2019 or 2020 718, you should be asking and accepting nothing less than a very large discount.
Disinformation. There’s no inventory, yet plenty of demand. Prices are actually rising, if anything.

At this point, the only 718 models that will be "worth" any value will be the 4.0 GTS, GT4, and Spyder. The H4 GTS will tank in value once the 4.0 GTS hits the lots.
More Fake news.

If you're seriously shopping for one of these cars and looking for a value play, go for it but I wouldn't walk into a dealer and start negotiating that way. I would still recommend you try my method of emails. You will inevitably find at least one dealer that is being honest with themselves and will sell the car at its current "market value" which is at a very deep discount.
current market values are high. Very deep discounts are a myth. Like Antifa in Portland 😏

You had me, and then lost me completely with the Antifa reference. Someone is violent in Portland, whether it is Antifa or some other coward.

What point are you making? All the 981 Spyders only said "Spyder", 718 is no different. If you're referencing the old "boxster Spyder", they haven't done that since the 987... where do you expect the script to be located? Off set with the Porsche script?

Wait, are you saying you don't believe Antifa is violent and/or that it is only one person unaffiliated with them who's responsible for the violence in Portland? Cuz, that's kinda what you said there.

The 718 says '718 Spyder' on the rear, if you remove the '718' the 'Spyder' would not be centered so this is someone who installed the Spyder badge aftermarket, or maybe they were able to have the factory/dealer do it with the PTS option too. Is this a factory car though? I thought those were S:GO plates but maybe those are just the marketing cars.

Ah, my mistake, didn't realize they added 718. What color is that? I haven't looked at all the approved PTS colors, but don't recall that being one. Maybe they removed the Spyder text and rebadge it themselves?

https://www.rennbow.org/colorwiki/MintGreen

Mint green is an old Porsche color name.
Stoddard had a Mint Green America Roadster in the early ‘90s that sat on the showroom floor for about a year before selling. It didn’t appeal to me, though I’m a big fan of greens and have mellowed on this shade as well.

I think we have both misunderstood each other. I do believe Antifa is violent. But more importantly, and on the subject of 718's, I fully buy your level of discount analysis.

People may sniff about re-sale values, but as a car, it's a monster. Wouldn't hesitate to get one if I wanted a top notch sports car.
I will second this with my May delivery of a leftover 2018 718 Caymen GTS at 16% off of MSRP, full 4 year factory warranty, and options that are either performance or convenience oriented, no BLING!.
I don't drive sound, I drive HP, torque, handling, braking, aero, and the true sports care experience which is what this car delivers in spades. Owned a 928 fro 22 years prior and this car is a totally different animal but still a hoot. I could not be happier.

Dealers get allocations and they are very few (seems like a half dozen a year), I have no reason why but assume its production related-- likely some Covid impact as manufacturing was shut down likely for two months. Could also be that they allocate production to high priced 911 and other models that are much more expensive. If you only have so much capacity better to run a car down the line that sells for 150,000 I guess?? I do think that they will appear on lots when manufacturing is fully ramped up
