What is going on with the 718 market?

Long time lurker, first time poster...I saw this Car and Driver article today. The base price for the 718 Cayman quoted at the bottom of the article is $700 more than the current base price & delivery. So I guess someone at Porsche got them a price list and let them know the 718 will be available for order and 2020 delivery

2018 Cayman....
Four days , 2100+ miles , road food and rest stop bathrooms. But all worth it especially the honeymoon ride the past two days. What a simply BRILLIANT car!
An uneventful ride home, short of a rock chip in the W/S 30 miles from home! Not huge but typical for rural Montana.
And considering the pace today, especially when I hit Big Sky country...NO law enforcement entanglements.
Some comical electronic foul ups this morning trying to use the NAV and program a few XM stations into the radio, with NO knowledge of the system at 85-96 mph. (open, deserted Interstate) Need to get educated with the owners manual.
Mileage seemed to be above 30 mpg I wasn't paying real close attention to it.
People DO "Ooh and Aah" at fill ups too.
While I was eating at Connor's Family Cafe in Burley Idaho this morning, I was admiring the lines of the 718 and it hit me; reminds me of the first Ferrari I ever drove, a Silver 246 Dino.
Great home fries at Connors too. Apparently Idaho is known for potatoes. Heck oof an array of home made pies too.
Loving the car, still need to figure out whats makes things work though. Not as intuitive as Chevrolet or Honda.
My only disappointment when I saw it was the Dealer had checked the "Delete model designation script" box. So NO "Cayman 718" on the rear.
I may buy the "718" and at least add that. I like the script on the rear. Otherwise still infatuated and still in LOVE.
Gotta order some leather cleaner/detailer stuff and a car cover, one of the barn cats already eyeing the rear deck for a perch.

Well, it's official, I picked the car up on Saturday. Have not had any time to post, partially because I've been out enjoying the car and also because...well...family, life, etc.
Please meet my new baby (sorry for the rushed and rather crappy pics), father and child are both doing great
