Congrat's - beautiful color and a great AX weapon. Given the capabilities of the 718's they've been placed from S4 to S5 in our region. No need to worry about the bump as an 719 S took top honors in that class besting the GT3's and GT4's in that category.

Thanks again everyone. Hit a 2nd autox yesterday. Pilot 4S are defintiely (edit: NOT) up to task for autox, I mean they're fine but they're (edit: NO) RE71. I did pick up a Tarret front bar from a local, he also is selling a set of 18" OZ wheels with RE71s, I know the benefits of going to 18s, they just look so small.
Couple shifts at Brooksville airport.

Great looking car!
Question, how does your modded Miata’ compare to the pcar? I’m interested in getting a miata but all my friends bust my ***** cause they think its a girls car.
They drive M’s, Pcars, and S2K’ but I like the Miata... “light is right”. Throw on a SC and you’re right in the mix, save some beans while your at it too.

Sorry, just reread my last post and and the typos so I didn't get my point across. The 4S just dont have the necessary grip for autox. Whether it be lateral grip, ie 4 wheel slides or in braking, the ABS comes on often.

The18s seem to be popular with the autox 718s and 981s. Benefits include lower gearing, you dont need 2nd gear to take you all the way to 78ish. Drop about 7lbs per corner compared to the 20s, and of course cheaper and better tire selection.

Thank you!
Well compared to the Cayman being right out of the box, I'm faster in the Miata. 245hp/195tq in 2200lbs. Plus I run 225/45 BFG Rivals, which are excellent 200TW autox tire. But the Miata probably has close to $20 grand in it with amazing MCS coilovers. Not that you have to spend that to be fun or competitive. I always tried to walk that fine line of street and track car but now at 44 yo, fixed seats and no AC is not fun anymore, especially be in Florida.
But I will say dollar per smile, it's really hard to beat. It's a more involved driver's experience and makes the Cayman feel a little too cushy. Which brings me to your point regarding costs. After this 2nd event, it doesnt have me wondering how much I want to spend to make the 718 closer to what I want in an autox car. Exhaust, wheels and tires, and maybe slighter lower ride height with springs. I could buy another Miata with that! Keep in my, a really good 15" tire is a little over $100. 😅 So maybe I just keep this Cayman a stock and comfortable street car. Dilemma.
