Default discounts on high msrp 2018GTS leftovers

Hi all,
Currently I'm driving a 991.1C2S, been looking for the next P-car(boxster variant most likely) and although 718GTS is not the first choice, I've noticed that many higher build with 100k+ msrp 2018s are sitting on the dealer lot. So am thinking maybe I'll grab one if the deal is right. Just wondering what kind of discount in % will make you pull the trigger? Is it still too early to have 18-20% off for one with 100-200 test drive miles?

Probably...but you'll never really know until you ask.

Exactly. So I just asked and for a semi-loaded105k CGTS(missing pccb & burmester, geez these 718s are expensive 105k yet it's still not loaded) with 100ish test miles they seems to be pretty open to discount around the 18-20 mark. Looks like there definitely are deals out there guys! It's Christmas baby! Now I have to seriously consider this.

If you can get a brand new CGTS for 18-20% off MSRP, and you want new instead of CPO, which might be an even better deal, I'd run to the dealership.

I'm a bit surprised & this just made things interesting as I was mainly looking at 981s previously. Definitely will pay them a visit to see if that turbo sound will work for me, inventory is abundant (within the region I saw 10+ 2018B/CGTS ) so no need to rush.

Default Got 8% offered on a 2018. 6% on new 2019

I was already to buy a 2018 leftover at 8% off the 97k retail. Went to another dealer just to look around and was offered 6% on a 2019 with a retail of $101k.
Haven't made the deal yet.
Any thoughts on what is the better deal? Or are they both too high. Comments appreciated.

Seems a bit high, when I was looking at them a few months ago there seemed to be a lot of inventory. Not sure there is much demand for a 100k 4 cylinder car no matter how great it is.

The last sentence pretty sums up what I thought after a weekend's testing of 981GTS/718S/718GTS . Boxster / Cayman 's are greate little fun car best priced 50-85k range . The 981 GTS is awesome but slow compared to spyder / 718s/gts IMO that sound deserves a better acceleration. The non-PSE 718s is not inspiring so I barely drove it. 718 GTS on the other end is surprisingly much much better with the overall pkg & the gts tune (admitted the 718gts I tried has a msrp of 110k, it's still not loaded lol) , it hauls like a little rocket, harder than my 991.1 3.8 for sure. Feels like a solid 3.4/3.5s 0-60 car to me. The exhaust still does all the cracks & burbles, the engine sound granted is not as glorious as the H6, but very acceptable, gives you that motor-sport racy feel so you still have that desire to push it and get tons of fun out of it. But yeah it's over priced, especially with all the bloated option. 100k+ car will not move before a decent discount.(at least 15% for 2018s for me), the dealer I visit pulled a search & there are like 100+ 2018 BGTS lot cars in the US. So guys shop around & negotiate hard if you are sold on a 718GTS.

Now I just couldn't wait for the 718 spyder's arrival. Still keeps the sound while been a better performer than a 718GTS. That's crazy good. I don't care if they use a 4L or what. Sign me up! It will be a killer if they can hold msrp under 100k.(should be 9x given the other 718 -> 981 bump)

I was told by one car guy that the Porsche MSRP contains a 10% profit for the dealer. There are other incentives, too, but just talking in the micro world of one car, 10% is their wiggle room factor.
Does anyone know if this is accurate?

Ten percent is consistent with what I have heard and I've also heard there are no other incentives, beside more cars, i.e. no trunk money or other incentives of the sort.

When you're talking about leftover cars, none of that really matters, as they get incentives to reduce inventory. I got 12% off a leftover 981 and 23% off a left over 991.1.

I bought my 18 718 GTS last March and received a 5 percent discount on a 95k list. The dealer gave me the clear side markers, a nice Porsche rear license plate frame, Porsche coffee cup, a set of Porsche valve stem caps and the salesman replaced one of the key fob covers with a red cover. I didn't ask for any of it and was pleasantly surprised at them doing it all.

"it hauls like a little rocket, harder than my 991.1 3.8 for sure. Feels like a solid 3.4/3.5s 0-60 car to me."

This has me thinking I need to drive one as my next consideration beyond my 991.1 base. I do mostly canyon driving and not sure there's a better companion for the price.
Seems to be some good buying opportunities given the number of 718 GTS's on the lots, but I'd go low option because it already has pretty much what I desire.
I'd appreciate knowing what discounts are being negotiated.

I forgot to add 'After pressing the cheating button' for that part. But yeah performance wise this little guy is as capable as super cars from 10yrs ago, with the sound being the only drawback. So I'm still debating hard whether or not go for it. Go test drive one to see if it does for you. Go easy on the options is obviously the way to go but I noticed many leftovers don't have PDLS equipped which is annoying. 15% or maybe more is definitely doable with the motivated dealers for those lightly demo'd ones. Many are still not willing to go over 10% on their delivery mile 18's. I'd say be a bit more patient & the time is on your side.

In the tight twisties in your neck of the woods, I'd say the 718 is a better fit than a 911 due to its size and ability to rotate being mid-engine. I've driven my buddy's 997 around Malibu and the wide *** gives it less wiggle room on the tight roads. I drove just a base 981 Cayman on the Snake and the way that car rotates is phenomenal on the tight and narrow roads.
