Default Intro for buddy and WTB 20" Cayman S wheels

I helped my buddy in SoCal find an extremely clean 2017 Cayman S with 44 miles, that's not a typo 44 miles! The owner bought the car, drove it home, and let it sit for 19 months! It's a well performance optioned Cayman but I wish it had some items such as 14 ways, auto-dimming mirrors, CarPlay etc. The MSRP was $83k and we paid $64k!

QUESTION: What are the 20" wheel width and offsets that properly fit this car? I'm not sure if 911 wheels will if it well or if the offset it Cayman specific.

WTB: If you have a set of 20" wheels and preferably satin or gloss black, he's looking to buy a set.

We're looking or a set of 981 or 718 20" wheels but the sizes are confusing. Do the 981 wheels have the same offset as the 718's, even though they're slightly more narrow? As long as the 981 wheels have the same "ET" as the 718 wheels, the offset is the same, the only downside is a narrower wheel but the tire size is the same?!?! Strange

718 Carrera S and Classic Design
Front - 8 x 20 ET 57 - 235/35 ZR 20 (88Y)
Rear - 10 x 20 ET 45 - 265/35 ZR 20 (95Y)

718 Carrera Sport
Front - 8.5 x 20 ET 57 - 235/35 ZR 20 (88Y)
Rear - 10.5 x 20 ET 47 - 265/35 ZR 20 (95Y)

981 Carrera S
Front - 8 x 20 ET57 - 235/35 ZR 20 (88Y)
Rear - 9.5 x 20 ET45 - 265/35 ZR 20 (95Y)

I just bought a 718 Boxster and the dealer told me the CarPlay activation would be a fairly time consuming process, and doesn't end up being terribly reliable. Let me know if your dealer says otherwise and if it works out for you.

Sorry, I meant that the dealer told me that the dealer installed retrofit takes 8 hours or so to install, $1200+ in parts and isn't reliable on the 2017 718. They have been doing them on Mecans, and those have proven to be much easier to install and much more reliable.

Thanks for the intro KOTYKB! If anyone’s interested, I found some 20” Porsche 981 Spyder wheels. They are 8.5” front and 10.5” rear. I slapped on some Michelin PS4S tires, 245 and 265 respectively.

Selling the silver CS wheels above if anyone is intersted! PM me.

That’s almost exactly how I would spec a 718. LMK if your buddy wants to sell!

Agreed! That’s an all-go no-show build. I’d have done MT and not PDK. The 2-way Sport Seats Plus seats are arguably the best of the four choices.
