We have a pretty long waiting list for GT4 and Boxster spyder from prior clients but are open if people have purchase history

Thanks C.J. and you are one of the good ones. I’m in FL so I will leave your possible GT4 availability to more local customers. Not a big buyer of new Porsche over the years an 05 6GT3 and a couple of Cayman GTS’s.

My dealership was helpful - knocked 7% off the price (which is all I asked) and found the exact car I wanted at a different dealership and shipped it down to Florida (that part wasn't free but I wasn't going to drive from New England in the winter either).

I got two dealerships (redwood and fremont) to agree to 5.5% (local delivery) , but the redwood has the much lower money factor option, so they probably getting my money. I'll be getting my deposit from the other dealer unless they wow me with a number higher than 6% which didn't seem likely when Ieft today. lol

I couldn't get any of the two dealerships to budge past 5.5%, seems at 6% they claimed the profit they would make wasn't worth it,k which I'm fine with.
On a 100k customized car, that's a fairly good discount.

Redwood did offer me ~15% off a 2018 97k boxter GTS on the lot, but the money factor makes it about the same lease payment as a 2019 and the residual is ~15% less as expected.

I think bayarea dealer is spoiled by the tech money these years so it's harder to get a good deal from them 5.5/6% is not bad. And if you are gonna lease it then it makes sense not to get the leftover last year model due to the rv. Congrats!

You're definitely right about that, they made it sound as though you're ignorant to ask for discounts. Thanks, thankfully y'alls feedback helped with pushing for the most i could get.

Yup same here, I knew to shoot for around 7% off MSRP after reading people's experience shared here. Getting close to that is good enough.

These are probably the better deals being shared here publicly also, i'll bet many paid full retail not on here.

Aren't sales consistently up over 981s? There isn't a wait list but I wouldn't call the car unpopular based on sales numbers.

Globally yes US wise not so, especially the high priced GTS is tough to move.

I got 3% off of the Cayman GTS I ordered. Reading this post, I probably should have tried to negotiate a bit harder, but I guess I was just happy to see it drop below $100k again

Yeah, definitely worth looking at this forum as folks on here helped me with negotiation tactics and estimates.
Congrats!! Was yours a custom build or did you already take possession of the car?

Thanks! It's a custom-build, but nothing crazy (white exterior, SPASM, carbon fiber interior trim, black & chalk interior). It arrived stateside a few days ago, but is currently stuck in customs. I suppose, since I'm not under any obligation to buy it (only put $3k down), I could try to renegotiate the discount. Obviously, I'd have to be prepared to walk away from it, otherwise I have no leverage.
