Enjoyed a 718 today
I realize this forum is not super populated with 718'ers, but felt I should share. I own a 981 Cayman S PDK with some track mods that I love, which I took to the dealer today for a clutch fluid change. My loaner was a 718 PDK. I had driven 718's and 718S's before, but just on 5-10 minute test drives, not all day and such. I thoroughly enjoyed the car throughout the day and evening, and loved the torque compared to my car (which has race headers and is stage 2 tuned). I still don't prefer the 718 sound to the flat 6, but I appreciate that it sounds good too in its own unique way. I think that if the car was my DD (mine is most certainly not) I would grab a 718. Really great chassis, great interior tweaks, great torque. There is too much divisiveness on the forums about the whole 4 cylinder thing and there shouldn't be. Cheers.

Definitely agree. Got really close to actually getting a 718S PDK as a daily driver (to compliment my 981GTS 6MT) before pulling the trigger on my 991.2 Carrera. I loved the 718S, and definitely felt as if the steering was improved over my car. May have to grab one once I get tired of my 991.2 actually...after tracking my 991.2, all I could think was "if only this car turned like a Cayman...but kept this torque!"

Thanks for your input guys. It helps me verify my decision to buy a CGTS over a 981 or 991.2. After living with my wife’s 718 base Boxster for over a year I drove a 2016 981 CGTS, I knew pretty quick that I was not going to like the car long term. I also preferred the dual trunks and mid engine design of the Cayman over the 911 rear engine and rear seats. It was nice to read your comments.
