Default bike rack on 718

After looking into different options finally decided to go with the hidden hitch from gururack. I have attached few pictures of the hitch and bike rack in action. I had to use the 1upusa single bike rack in reverse fashion to lower the bike rack. It is an enjoyable drive in the morning to get to my group bike ride. Hitch was custom fabricated and installed by Oliver (hobbyist) and his friend peter (retired engineer), a big thank you to them.

Nice! Seasucker looks like a good option for Cayman owners. My solution: a 2004 Volvo XC wagon. Going to a cross race with a buddy, race bikes and pit bikes, we have $40,000 worth of bike in $3000 worth of car.

I am having the gururack system installed and will be ordering the 1up rack. Is reversing the 1up rack easy to do? If yes, how is it done?

You need to turn the tray 180 and create new custom notch. Oliver helped me make them. I will post the pics as soon as I get the chance.

Thanks. I'd appreciate any input or photos you have. I live in California and wonder if I'd be able to have someone local create the custom notch.

Hey you got a convertible, just wrap the passenger seat & throw the bike in(two wheels will fit in frunk), that way you can really push the car without much concern/penalty

Lol. I meant if you have any photos of how the custom notch was added. Thanks.

Nicely done and very clever.

I would add a bunch of extra reflectors to the back of the 1Up. I have a black anodized 1Up and was recently tapped in the back by a girl who says she didn't see my (extended) rack.

I'm planning on adding more red and white reflectors to the underside of the trays so it's more visible when folded up.

Thanks for the photos and post. This looks like a great bike rack option. However, is there a reason why the rack won't fit the normal direction? Why does it need to be flipped? It looks a bit scary to have to cut new notches into the rack.

1. It would end up sitting way up higher
2. Stock model notch you make the bike lean a little forward. I will post the pictures if I find it before modification.
