New Product: Auto Shifters from Champagne
Hello all,
as previously mentioned in another thread, I am happy to announce that I will now stock and offer the following shifters for the auto 928.
These shifters are already well known here for their comfort, good looks and clever design, but have been hard to find lately.
Linda and I are making our own covers for the shifters and they are available to match all and any of your interior colors.
The leather I use for these is the same premium grade I use for everything else I make, and quite superior to what you would usually find on a shifter.
The covers are also hand laced instead of the machine stitch you would normally find.
The price for any color is $225.00 + $10.00 shipping in the US
Exotic skins are of course also possible, but at a premium that varies depending on the species.
The following is genuine full quill Ostrich, that we made as an example.
This would normally be priced at $275.00 + shipping, but, if anyone is interested, this one will go to the first one that emails or PMs for the regular price of $225.00
These shifters work really well with my long boots:
My long boots are all French seamed and come with their own bottom plate, for an easy installation.
They will however cover the letters and numbers. So make sure your instrument pod shifter lights are in good working order.
I am happy to offer the combo: shifter + long boot at $275.00 + $15.00 shipping.
Of the first batch I received, I currently only have 5 left. The craftsman making these in Australia, does so in his spare time, so production can be slow at times.
Thanks
Paul

Nice...but...am i missing something?
How do you release the shifter **** to get it out of PARK etc? Does the whole **** push down?
I have an old school one with the button on the top (not the TEE).

Yes...the whole handle is spring loaded....
BTW....Paul's price is CHEAPER than buying the shifter and having him recover it. Ask me how I know.
I highly recommend this shifter and Paul's boot...to boot.

Not to knock Paul's work... I'm a customer of his and he does top-notch work, but I drove a car with this shifter (Ed H's old car). I did not like the way it shifts mannually. It is very hard to control while pushing down - especially if you do the 2-3-2 shift. Maybe with some practice you could get better, but I found it un-natural.
I would prefer the top-button or even the t-handle over this.
BTW, what is the appeal of this style? Is it 5-speed envy?

You can actually just adjust the spring to give you the tension you require and once adjusted, after you press it down, it remains unlocked until you remove your hand from it. Once properly adjusted, you can do any shift pattern you want without applying much downward force other than the weight of your hand.
